Apologies to Janet!

I have a computer - hoorah! That is the good news.
I don't entirely understand the workings of it yet - the not so good news!!

We have changed from a PC to a Mac, which for those in the know means we haven't got windows any more and it's a whole new (much nicer and efficient apparently) life.

I have had a bit of a navigation lesson and all my docs and valued card pics are on this machine but I have yet to play with adding new stuff - although everything is possible and easy when you know how apparently.

So, many apologies but I will probably not be posting for a few more days while I sort myself out but do have a few cards in the pipeline I hope to publish when I know what I am doing!
If anyone has a Mac all tips gratefully received!

Jill

Shopping

Another commission for work. This 8x8 card makes use of the Retail Therapy set of clear stamps from Papermania.

The girl is just stamped, coloured with copics, punched out and layered.
The smaller images are all individual stamps that have also been coloured with copics, punched out and layered using circle punches.

The greeting is computer generated.

This really will be my last post for a few days while the computer is 'away' - fingers crossed I will be up and running again at the beginning of next week!

Icy

We had a day trip on the train booked last Monday to go to London. It was very chilly indeed!!
This pic shows the fountains in Trafalgar Square - bbrrrr.

I was also allowed to go ice skating at Somerset House - I'm a bit of a skating fan but due to no facilities it's a long time since I had a go. Slightly scared in this photo that someone is going to crash in to me - if you were lucky enough to stay upright (which surprisingly I was) there was a very high chance of being taken out by someone else toppling over or getting a bit over confident! Great fun though.

Not got much crafting finished either recently although I am pottering away and still not sorted the computer because that involved a drive to Exeter in the snow - something I have postponed for now.
I'll go and see if I can finish a card now!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to anyone that reads this!!

As promised I have made my first Christmas card for this year! It's not very fancy but the last couple of days seem to have been a bit hectic.

This stamp is from a Jolly Nation set of clear stamps. Not sure I will use all of them but the whole A5 sheet was 50p - so I had to obviously. Due to time issues and being determined to make 1 today it is one of the images simply stamped and layered - job done.

Apologies mainly to Janet that I may not post much for a week or two as I need to get my craft pile in order (still everything seems to be covered in glitter from Christmas makes) and I have a new computer in a box downstairs and I'm giving it to a 'man' for a few days who I am hoping will magically make all my files, folders and pictures magically appear on it but there will be a short interlude of posting. All worth it in the end I am told.

And finally ...

I never thought I would finish wrapping presents - didn't realise there were so many until I unearthed them from their hiding places!

Anyway, all cards done, one final post before the hols.

The card here uses Alison Yeates parchment petals. They come perforated for folding and pinching so that when you have added your design they magically (after some practice) turn in to a very pretty shape.

I embossed a snowflake on to each petal here and added dots as a border (apologies to those of you that received one without dots - I forgot what I was doing!!). The bottom layer is traced, embossed and perforated round the edge (I used a new PCA tool, not entirely sure what it was yet but I liked it!).

I have had these for ages and pleased I finally used some. Finished off with card candy coloured with copics and a bit of Anita's ribbon.

Just worked out I have sold 90 cards at work this month, plus making cards for close family and friends - I now have a cold (probably not surprisingly) and will be having a couple of days of well earned rest!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Cat!!!

Can't really say too much about today's commission!

I have made quite a few cards for people at work using photos of their dogs, 3 d'ing them on a background of paw prints etc.

This week I have been asked to do a cat (on an A4 card) - nothing wrong there you might think. I was only given one picture of said animal and have produced the card shown below. Enjoy!!!

Antlers

Another quick post in passing!
Today's request was for a dog card (and one I haven't done before) so I have used the Penny Black Reindeer Pup stamp.
Simply coloured with copics (dog has to be brown) and gold pen for a bit of sparkle and layered in colours to match.
Peel off greeting and some card candy in the corner - hey presto!
