Purrfect

I survived the WI talk/demo/practical last week!
It was quite hard work with 30 ladies, most of whom had never tried quilling before and many who turned up determined that it wasn't for them.

I am pleased to say that everyone completed their little flower card and some of the initial doubters even bought tool and papers to try some more.
Still got far more ideas than time available, especially after a little trip to Farnborough last week.

Another simple but effective card today.
This was made for a cat lover using the Papermania Pampered Pets decoupage pad and matching paper.

Snowdrop Valley

No crafting yesterday but thought I would share a pic of my day out.

I visited Snowdrop Valley on Exmoor. The picture doesn't really do it justice and the sun came out after I had taken this shot but it was a lovely spot nonetheless.

Because it did brighten up even more we then had a walk round the grounds at Dunster Castle from where we had lovely views out to the sea and across the countryside.

Much better than the weather today which has just taken a turn very much for the worse!

Flower Cards

I do hope to get back to some play time with cards soon.
These little cards are for the talk/demo I am doing this week.

The ladies would like to do a practical which is quite an ask in the time but I have put together all the stuff for these little cards.

These samples should be enough to spread around the room and then I get the bonus of adding them to my stock afterwards.

The flowerpot is a little cheat punch but I think we have enough to contend with, especially if the ladies are new to quilling.
All of my cards have 6-petal flowers but will look just as nice with just 5 teardrops.
I have also varied the options on the stems from sticking the paper down flat which might be easier to adding a little glue down the side of the paper.

A New Home

This card is for a crafty friend who is moving in down the road from me tomorrow.

It is stolen from a Julie Hickey idea and is a paint card from a DIY shop!

I came by some more the other day and am disappointed that the new ones had rather too much writing on. This older one left enough space to punch out these little houses and use a decent size strip to mount them on without showing any writing!

Do also pop past Karen's blog to see the lovely card she has made from a similar item this week!

Sorry for the lack of posting - still busy with work and next week's talk & demo!

Birthday Card

And today is Graeme's birthday.

After loading up the DoCrafts Digital Designer recently and finding that you could have all sorts of fun with pyramage and inverted pyramage with your own pictures I thought I better have a go.

This isn't one of my pics but was taken by a professional at the velodrome.

The programme 'did its stuff' and after a little cutting and assembling you can see the result.

Peel off sentiment layered on card to match and hey presto! I think there may be many more of these in the offing!

Valentines

A commissioned card today using the cute doggies from the Penny Black transparent set 'The Touch of Love'.

I've added a touch of colour and double mounted on to a kraft card which I punched the edge of with a very apt EK border punch.

A peel off greeting and some papermania hearts added for a finishing touch.

Get Well Soon

Yet another quick card.
So many fab ideas after another great day with Jenny at the weekend and the lovely SU products but no time to play yet.

I really need to get organised this week for a Quilling talk & demo I am doing in a couple of weeks so nothing fancy for a few days.

This is for a friend who has been rather ill this week. The lovely little water bottles I've had for ages from Heritage Crafts, I've just cut them out and layered them on to an SU oval.

The square white card has a square of paper on it to show up the letters with some card candy in the corners.

Me to You

Apologies if anyone remembers a similar card I may have posted before but I have made a few repeats this week for various things.

This is a lovely Tatty Teddy stamp that I stamped using London Fog Memento ink and coloured in copics - with a touch of glossy accents on his little blue nose.

The image is punched out and layered on a punched scallop oval.

Corners in co-ordinating card from SU punch and a spotty card candy. Some little punched hearts and a peel off sentiment on more SU punches finish it off.

Both the card colours used are pearlescent which may not show up brilliantly on the scan but make it quite a smart 2-tone card.

Looking forward to tomorrow's Stampin' Up day with Jenny - lets hope the weather behaves!

Shopping

I am still here! Just so Janet knows I have been dabbling with crafting this is a card I made for a friend using one of the Born to Shop range of stamps.

I have just simply stamped it and coloured with copics. I have added glossy accents to the shoes for a patent effect.

The words were a stamp that also came with the images. I think they were free on a DOCrafts mag a while back.
I have stamped and coloured a few images this week but not put much together - work keeps getting in the way!
