Quick Post

Just a quick post as haven't had much time in the last couple of days.

This was a quickie card for a Birthday using a chipboard of Pepper Dog.
He is sat in a punched oval. The peel off greeting is also sat in a shape from an SU punch.

The punch down the side is a new purchase I got at the Sincerely Yours show recently. It is an ek success border punch called paw print (managed to do a deal for some more ek punches to turn up on my birthday too - only a few more weeks to wait!) with a bit of card candy to finish off.

Not very complicated I'm afraid but a card nonetheless!

Sunflowers

Well, what a strange week! Apologies for lack of posting I have been busy but also a bit dazed as I agreed to move to a new job last Thursday and moved today - it still all seems a bit sudden and weird!

Anyway, I did manage to make this cheery card the other day. It is using the new papermania 'build a sunflower' stamp set. Each set of petals are stamped a couple of times so it builds up a nice flower. The check paper is from a previous papermania set.

Added some anitas gems in the cut out corners for a bit of sparkle too. The ribbon came with the paper in a goody bag, along with the buttons which I've tied a little bit of co-ordinating thread through. The yellow card used for layering is from my stash.

Will be back with blogging more regularly now hopefully. Had this evening off as a treat after an emotional and stressful week and drank red wine and ate chocs - it's been great!

For any Crafty Bunchers also reading this I am doing my bit by buying Mr Kipling apple pies (8 for the price of 6 - £1.25) this week in Morrisons! I look forward to however we are going to use the foil trays!

May Birthday

I did promise to post yesterday but this week has all been a bit mad.

This is a card I made for our Crafty Bunch Birthday List which as the event has passed I can now post! (Hi Karen!).

The leaves on this card are ones I used on a post last month, they are made from wheatear shapes, each shape then being stuck to each other in a row, then pulled round in to a circle.
The flower is a bigger version of this. It was featured in a Quilling Guild magazine but I will try and post a how-to sometime.

The flower is just mounted on a couple of matching layers of card and finished off with the trusty SU ovals and peel off greeting.

Will be a bit quiet on the blog front for a couple of days but I'll see what I can find for the weekend!

Still here ... honest!

I will post a new card tomorrow. Very busy week and done some very strange cards for work which are far too random to post.

Did manage to make it to the Sincerely Yours paper show though so might be able to use something new this week!!

Vintage Vogue

I finally played with something new! This is the new Vintage Vogue set from Stampin' Up.

To save thinking I have very much copied a couple of cards I have been shown using the set and combined the ideas for this card.

Also got to use my new stamp-a-ma-jig which I am very pleased with.
Sadly I don't have all the SU matching card and inks so used this fab purple I picked up recently and used a couple of chalk inkpads to match. I decided that finding matching ribbon in the stash was too hard today so cut a strip of the purple card to go across the middle of the card.
I cut out the 2 flowers from the set and attached them together with a matching brad for the centre of the card.

The greeting is stamped from my collection and punched using the SU ovals again.

I have made a few of these to cover some birthdays this week and the homework card for Crafty Bunch.

A man card

A quick man's card today.

One of our friends is a runner and this is the only pic I could find! It is from one of the new Smirk mens packs.

I've punched him out and layered it on a bigger punched circle.
The stripey paper is also from the Smirk pack.

Shiney blue card to tie in with the border to the little man and a matching peel off.

Used some silver card candy and matched it by using Copic B29!!

On to the next one ...

A spot of Quilling!

Been to a quilling workshop this evening to make sure I keep trying to get new ideas.

This flower is made up of petals which are strips of paper wrapped round an onion holder, going up one 'rung' at a time!
The second layer is 5 eccentric coils and then a fringed flower sits in the middle.
Quilled tendrils and bow to finish the quilling side of things.

A Martha Stewart punch (not mine) was used for the border and an x-cut butterly. There is a room for a greeting if and when required.

Pepper Dog

Definitely not enough hours this week and far too many birthdays and anniv- ersaries this month!

I have been busy making some wedding invite samples this week but will post the 'chosen' one when we have perfected it.

This dog was a commission for work. It is a lovely Craftwork Cards scalloped edge card. The backing pepper is from the Pepper Dog papers.

The 3 little Peppers were cut out, mounted on card and cut round again to give a little white border, then mounted on pads.

The trusty SU oval punches with a peel off greeting and a few sparkly butterflies to finish.

Accordion Book in a Box

The last few days I have been busy pottering away in any spare minutes to make this accordion book in a box.

I have used My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow papers so they are all co-ordinated.

Each page is a 6x6 square folded many times, then with a 2" square piece of card put in the middle to keep it stable and act as your blank album page. A square folded in half on the diagonal is the 'hinge' between each page.

The box is also made from 6x6 papers, the top and bottom use 4 squares each, just folded differently so the lid sits over the base. I did then put a few little photos in each page for a friend who has a special birthday today.
