Mr & Mrs

Happy Wedding Day to Katie and Dean today.

This is a gorgeous die.  Sadly I have come by it from one of my crafty friends that passed away but I have given it a good home and will certainly give it lots of use.

I've cut the image on some pearlescent card.  It is a Taylored Expressions die and actually cut superbly.

I layered it on some coloured card and another layer of the pearl with some ribbon tied round it and finished off by adding pearls to all the flowers.

A happy and sad card all at the same time.

Decorated gift book

Well, a super evening - not that I didn't have enough to do but I got tempted to try the first franchise of Jennie Maizels Sketchbook Club that has started in Sherborne at Butterfly Bright - visit Jennie's website here.

Tonight we did Zentangle which is sooo relaxing - I'll share some pics when I've finished some modules!

What I can share today is a gift I made my niece for Christmas.  She loves all things stationery like I do so I decorated a book for her and added some matching paper in the pen.

I'd forgotten about the black elastic to hold the cover closed until I'd decorated it but nearly got away with it!

I've got a few of these and it almost seems a shame to use them!!

Happy 40th

My brother-in-law was 40 at the weekend and this was his card:

He is a bit of a bike fan too so I used the Stampin' Up! set Sheltering Tree.
I've layered the image on some circle and starburst framelits.

The background card is from AnnaMarie and I've used an extra little bit to die cut the numbers out and layer like the main image.

Retired Bitty Banners used for the sentiment and finished with a few bits of card candi.

I then stamped the inside too to finish, the sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! hostess set called Happy Birthday Everyone.   The card was a rather fab 7x7" which is a great in-between size:

Happy 30th Balloons

Happy 30th Birthday to my cousin (and God-daughter!) Katie today.

This card is mainly Stampin' Up! supplies but not 100%.

I've used the stamp set Celebrate today from SU which I'm really pleased isn't going to retire because I love it and it's really useful.

I've used different colour inks and stamps to make the balloons and cut them out with the matching framelits.  The banners & bow were also cut with framelits.

The numbers were cut from a retired SU numbers set and the background stamped with some stars from Pictogram Punches before bakers twine was added to the balloons and gathered under a bow to finish.

A special birthday

Looking through my pics yesterday I realised I hadn't shared this one with you!

This was for Caroline at Crafty Bunch who is in our birthday club and I was tipped off that it was a special number this year!  The numbers were cut out with now retired SU dies.

It's a bit of a Stampin' Up extravaganza again funnily enough and I think the ink/card colours were elegant eggplant and crushed curry.

I also used:

Ovals collection framelits
Pricking templates - Occasions
Flower Shop stamp set and matching punch
Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch
Everything Eleanor stamp set

Beach Wedding

A commission to share with you today and congratulations to the couple involved who got married yesterday!

Through a friend the Mother-of-the-Bride asked me to make a wedding card.

They had a great wedding invitation with bunting on and one of the guest requirements was to wear flip flops.

My task was to make a beach-themed card with bunting on with the name of the bride and groom on, a sentiment, sandcastle and flip flops!

The 'sea' on my card mirrors the wedding invitation, as does the colour of the base card.
I used the double sided adhesive sheet I bought at the show last week for the beach and added craft sand to it and cut out a couple of sandcastles.

The bunting is using an SU banner punch and the letters are a new addition to my stash as I get asked to personalise things a lot - I'm a huge fan of these already!!  They are Joy Craft dies.

At this point I should say the banners also mirror the colours on the wedding invitation!

Computer generated sentiment on a 3D banner and some little hearts to tie everything in.

And then the flip flops!! I remembered making some years ago from shrink plastic.  So I googled the process, found my shrink plastic and here we are.  The picture may not do them justice but they have wire on them for the 'thong' element and seed beads for decoration.

It's always a bit scary providing a card for such an occasion when you don't know those involved but my feedback was that it exceeded their expectations so it was worth the flip flop sticking trauma I had en-route!
