Kingfisher
Here is the result of my last couple of days!
I have had my lovely box of Polychromos pencils for sometime and not really used them much.
When I then saw that Christine & Alison had a Parchment Art master class using them and the subject was Kingfisher and Pussy Willow (two things I am a great fan of) I had to go!
Day one we produced a Pussy Willow piece and then started on a second and slightly different pussy willow branch for this picture.
We then spent day 2 with Alison giving us many demos on how to build up the picture with blending the pencils and using the right colours.
There are some things I would do slightly differently but for a first go I am pretty pleased.
There is only some slight embossing on the back of the willows and then the pencils are used as a dorso effect on the back, blending in with zest-it.
My pencil tin doesn't know what hit it!
Thanks for popping past.

Cupcakes
I finally had a play with my Cupcakes!
This card is similar to one we did at Crafty Bunch a while ago and I also got some inspiration from Julies Japes Blogspot.
The fabulous cupcakes are created from the 'Create a Cupcake' stamp set and matching punch from Stampin' Up.
Turns out I have also used 4 other SU punches in this card but they are all fab, finished off with a bit of ribbon.
I am trialling a few cupcake options for a commission but am quite pleased with this one.
May not blog until later in the week now, few busy days including a learning opportunity - so will file a report in a few days!

Congratulations
Well, every time I think I've nearly got on top of things more cards get added to the list!
I can report that the outcome to my last 'Grandparent' post is that a little girl arrived yesterday.
Two friends have got engaged in the last week and I have made cards with the same stamp which is a Fizzy Moon image.
This image was coloured with copics, copic spica added to the champagne bubbles for sparkle and glossy accents added to the hearts and nose.
I punched out the image and layered, adding some paper mania hearts and gems. Sentiment from SU 'Curly Cute' set.
Must crack on with some commissions next as it appears I might of ordered the special edition of copic anniversary pens that are out in October - plenty of time to save!

You're a Grandparent!
It was lovely to see Val's jewellery 'for real' at the weekend. Thanks to Karen & Anne for popping by too. I can report that I am not still frozen to the spot, but did need a hot bath and a hot water bottle to thaw out!
That aside it was still great to spread the quilling word and sit next to a big stand of product to be able to help people get their supplies. I had a few new converts which was great and they went home with tool, book and a stash of quilling paper.
Back to this week and as well as not quite having ditched the lurgy yetI have been lucky enough to have a few commissions.
This cute hedgehog is from a Penny Black acrylic set. Mum's neighbours are 'expecting' imminently and Mum wanted to give them a card as she loved having new Grandparent cards and knows they will appreciate a specially made one.
Not that I have too much time on my hands but as we don't know the 'make' of little person I have made both options so a card is ready for delivery either way!
The image was stamped with memento and coloured in copics, with some of the image being cut out twice for a 3D effect. Layered on co-ordinating card and finished with a computer generated greeting and some card candi.

Quilling Demo
I have finally put some samples together for this weekends Quilling Demo.
This is a sample of a few, I have since stuck the primroses on to a card.
All the samples are from Pat Greens Quilling Handbooks as the shop has a stash of these in with the quilling supplies.
I will hopefully have some more bits and pieces after the demos.
Fingers crossed for the weather, just heard a large amount of rain outside which doesn't help encourage people out and about!
Now to finish packing - it's worse than going on holiday!

Roses
This is another lovely Craftwork Cards base card (an 8x8 shaped one). The card was dusted lightly with chalk to take away some of the brightness of the white.
The flowers are from a Papermania 'Build-a-Rose' set. Each flower is made up of 9 or 10 individual petals (3 different sorts per flower) which I stamped on some parchment effect paper and cut out, a brad through the middle of them holds it together and is topped by a stamped flower centre.
The leaves are also individually stamped and cut out.
Sentiment also stamped with an age added on.

And another ...
... retirement card.
This was done for a last minute commission.
After establishing the gentleman concerned wasn't particularly into golf, football or some other 'men' options I have stamps and images for we settled for this one!
This is a stamp from Little Claire called 'Lazy Days'
I coloured it with copics and cut it out. I added 3D pads to the back and mounted on the pearl green card that I put through the Cuttlebug with a Papermania Woodland Folk embossing folder.
Double mounted and suitable peel off added to matching card below.
Now if only I could ditch some of my germs I could have a more productive week for next weeks demos!
