Even more Butterflies

Still on a butterfly theme, and rather similar to another card I did recently, this is one I made for a special birthday.

The colours were chosen specifically for the recipient and I've used a selection of Stampin' Up! stamps, dies and an embossing folder.

Val at Aquarius Blog did a super case this week of my other card, it's great to see how different they look in the various colours too.

Bows a plenty

I made one of these cards with current Stampin' Up colours the other day and love the bows so much that I had to make a few more cards for birthdays in the next few weeks.

I've used some paper from a pad in the stash and the new Bow Builder punch from Stampin' Up.

They are mounted on a large polka dot embossing folder and a layer of card to pick up colours in the bows.

Sentiment stamped and cut out with SU products.

More workshops

What I haven't shared is another little day out I had!

I recently went down to Japonica in Exmouth for another great workshop day.  This time my friend Lucy accompanied too which was nice.  I always do 'show and tell' with Lucy after a workshop and she had to try it for herself this time!

I'm pleased to say it was a success and we did 3 workshops through the day - some of which I will share another day.

For our first workshop we had lovely Julia from Stamping Ground.  She had made a card using a Stampendous stamp set that had since turned into gold dust and I was rather taken with the flowers on the alternative - a  mistake it turned out as although the stamps are lovely it was a bit more of an 'event' to sort the card and needed masking and we had a bit of a slow start trying to be too precise.

Anyway, we soon rallied and got going and eventually produced this (which is 8x8"):

A little of the masking went wayward - I was being too delicate!  The masking produced a wreath of flowers that we then cut out.

They have been painted using brilliance ink on an acrylic block with a spritz of water.

The background is mulberry paper which I hadn't used for years and this is also dragged through the inks.

Needs a little perfecting but it was good to try something different and (ahem) I might of bought these Woodware stamps too!

That was just one card - we then made another in a different style.

This card has used the 'gold dust' Ranunculus stamps that can be easier overlapped without faffing about.

They are stamped on to a page from an old paperback book and coloured with pencils - an outline of blue really making them 'pop'.

This is then stuck to the backing card and all run through the cuttlebug in an embossing folder - a great effect.

A little tag added to finish too.

So, now we were up to speed and this was only one class and we had another before lunch - better save that for tomorrow.

Coffee challenge

After much crafting and no blogging I have re-appeared with a challenge card!

The current challenge over at Addicted to CAS is 'Coffee' so I have had a go.
This is my card:

I've used a new Stampin' Up embossing folder called Scallops Textured and punched a hole in this piece.  I have then sponged round the edge with the same Early Espresso ink I have used to stamp the image which is from last years sale-a-bration with SU called Patterned Occasions.

Finished with some matching bakers twine and mounted on a white card.

I might even come back tomorrow!

Tulips

Wasn't yesterday lovely?
I had planned to add a picture from my outing yesterday but took a different camera and now need to find the lead for it!

Anyway, myself and Mum had booked a coach trip to take us to the Cotswolds to visit Adam's Farm (him from Countryfile) - what a great day to be out and about, we were very lucky.

Definitely worth a visit.  Lots for children to do, many rare breeds to look at, baby animals and currently lambing which was very interesting - we even saw the man himself!
We also went on a 2 mile trail round the site, across fields and the scenery was stunning.

Back to crafting today and this card I have made for Jo Dumbleton's Facebook Friday challenge.

Another 'cased' idea, I had never seen these before until I did a spot of research yesterday.  The subject of this weeks challenge was to use the Stampin' Up owl punch.

I have used 3 owls per each tulip head - what a brilliant idea and so effective.  I've sponged round the edges of each petal, cut some leaves and mounted it all on an embossing folder piece.

Bert Badger

A card that anyone that has recently had a birthday will recognise!

For this card I used a very nice pearly green card from the paper mill as a base card and then a piece was used in one of the new Woodland Folk embossing folders to give the tree background.

Bert Badger himself is one of the new layered die cut folders from DoCrafts that I had to try!
It was a bit of an event but fairly pleased with him, although Graeme wondered why I was making a panda card which was a bit disappointing.

The die cuts out MANY different shapes that all layer up for the completed animal so it took a while but fairly pleased with him and will have another play sometime.

Shoes

I will make a more complicated card one today - honest!!

Nearly finished the quilling now - handy as I leave on Thursday for my little trip.

Although this card is rather straight forward I am quite pleased with it and hope the lady it was made for is too as she is rather a shoe fan!

Main image is a Born to Shop embossing folder, using some lovely pearl card from AnnaMarie designs.

This is simply layered on white and matching pearl paper, some papermania gems in the corners of the white layer and some matching card candy in the corners of the main card.
Some smaller papermania gems add a touch of sparkle to the dress and hey presto!
