Cupcakes

I've had a few commissions this week amongst everything else and after a few nights of stamping, punching etc have finally assembled a card (well several).

One of my projects this week was to provide some cupcake themed cards.
This Tatty Teddy stamp from DOCrafts is called Cupcake Treats.

I stamped it in London Fog memento ink and coloured in copics.  I punched out the image and layered on a larger scalloped Woodware punch in a lovely shiny turquoise card.

Happy Birthday sentiment stamped and again punched out with SU ovals.
Finished with trusty card candi in matching tone.

Will try and post some more tomorrow - before myself and Karen's visit to DOCrafts HQ on Friday which we are really looking forward to!

Dress Up Marci

Well - what a busy weekend.  Unfortunately I don't have a craft room, we just have one spare room for all our possessions - crafting, books, magazines, cycling kit - so this weekend I have emptied it and tried to thin stuff a bit and re-acquaint myself with what craft stuff I have at the bottom of piles.

I do have a lot and it appears could start up my own version of a paper mill shop.  Anyway, I am now a bit straighter and when I've sorted the last bit hope to be able to see my desk for more than an hour!

Back to actual crafting and this is a card for another Crafty Bunch Birthday Club member.

The stamp is 'Dress Up Marci' from La-La Land crafts.  I've coloured her with copics and cut her out so that I could mount the image on a couple of shapes from a Crafts-too and a Nellie's die for the Cuttlebug.

Added some punched SU flowers with a matching brad, a splash of ribbon and some candi.  Stamped greeting layered on the trusty SU oval punches.

I'm hoping to actually get back to crafting tomorrow to have a break from sorting and trying to lessen my stash!

Quilling Workshops

I am holding 3 Quilling Workshops at Yandles Hobby Shop, Martock, near Yeovil, Somerset.
They are all on Saturdays from 10am until 12.30 (ish).

On 9th June I am running Quilling for Beginners which will be learning the basic shapes then using these to make cards to take home.
28th July is Quilled Flowers where we will use basic shapes and incorporate some different techniques to make a variety of pretty flowers.
22nd September is Christmas Quilling - always popular and using a variety of techniques to make cards and maybe some decorations for Christmas.

All workshops are £12.50 and include all tools and materials but booking is essential.

I have taken my personal details of this poster but please leave a comment on this entry if you are interested or pass on to anyone you think might like to come along.

Thanks.

New Toy!

Oooh, look what the postman bought today!

I did some research in to scoring boards before Christmas and really liked the Scorpal but didn't want to afford both metric and imperial.  The Hougie board, aside from being too bright green even for me, did both measurements but didn't go fine enough for my liking.

When I heard Stampin' Up were launching their board over here I decided that would be a good bet whatever 'form' it took.  I was very surprised (and pleased) when it turned up in the May Mini Catalogue as Imperial down to 1/8th" with a Metric add on board that goes down to 1/2cm - plus there is a diagonal board (having that last one was Jenny's fault!).

It certainly looks smart and I look forward to playing with it very soon.

(I bet there are a couple of followers that also have one of these already!!).

Zentangle

Happy special Birthday today to Karen today.
As part of our Crafty Bunch Birthday club we send a card to everyone on the list so get a nice little pile on our Birthdays.

I had seen on Karen's Blog that she had been playing with Zentangle like I had so thought she would appreciate a bit of a 'doodled' card.  It is very therapeutic and addictive.

This stencil was one from a set I got with Papercraft Inspirations Magazine a while ago and the font is computer generated but then doodled in as well.  The scalloped card is from Craftwork Cards.

Today's other surprising news is that both myself and Karen are among just 30 people who have a place on the first ever DOCrafts Creativity Club Event next month, the odds of which must be rather high but I think we are both rather pleased!

Pussy Willow

This is the 'test piece' we did on last weeks course before we embarked on the Kingfisher.

I started off a little heavy handed with the grey to start with but the willows looked much better at the other end of the branch.

The branch and willows were then lightly embossed and the background is made up of 7 different layers to create an 'in the tree' effect.

Quite pleased overall and now got the bug to play with my pencils.
