Retirements

A bit of a run on retirements at work this week with the end of the voluntary redundancy period!

I made this a few weeks ago (so would now colour the trousers a little differently) for someone I've worked with that left this week.

The backing paper and stamp are papermania. I stamped the chair on paper and cut out to match the card, coloured with copics and added a very large peel off greeting!

Coasters

And another week bites the dust!

Today's 'show and tell' is a lovely set of coasters I bought for a present recently.

They were for a recently re-done black & white kitchen - my original idea to put black/white images in them. As I started looking through my stamps (which took some time!), I came across this stamp (KARS, Nellie Snellen - Grandparents) and decided to add a splash of colour to proceedings - and another excuse for copic practice!

The recipient loved them and didn't realise I'd coloured them so I was quite pleased.

Marci

This is a new stamp that I thought would be good for a bit of Copic practice and a design that I could use lots.

It is a La La Land stamp called Marci with Flowers.

Not very technical as I didn't have much time for this either. I have used my copics with a touch of glossy accents on the flower. Layered up in colours to match with a bit of paper taken from a Tulip/Hot Diggity Dog paper pack.

SU punches to add a 'Mum' peel off too and some more card candi.

The large card is another lovely Craftwork Card one.
Off out again now - no wonder there isn't enough time to craft!

Man Tree!

This was a stamp I thought would be handy for those tricky chaps.

It is a Little Claire stamp called 'Man Tree' that I got at Farnborough recently.'

I haven't had much time in the last couple of weeks for cards so this was a little more rushed than I would of liked and I ended up forgetting to add more blue to the sky background but am fairly pleased with it apart from that.

I've coloured all the items on the tree and stamped the image a second time so that I could cut some of them out for a 3D effect.

Peel off layered on matching card and a couple of snazzy card candi to finish.

Holidays

I could play guess the location with this picture, except I know several of you did know where I was going last week. Whilst most of the South West seemed to be covered in fog last Tues/Wed I was ambling round St Ives in Cornwall and took this picture across the beach - isn't it fab?

We were very lucky last week with the weather, particularly this day.
This also explains my lack of blogging yet again but I am nicely relaxed and ready to go again now!

Agapanthus!

I saw this agapanthus stamp at Farnborough recently and just had to have it!

I stamped the design on to the base card, then stamped it again and cut out a few individual flowers. All coloured in the same shade of copic but then I've added some glossy accent on the 3D ones.

Then I actually managed a little bit of quilling for the butterflies hovering above it, some of the papers used are edged with silver for a little sparkle.

Peel off sentiment layered on matching card to finish off.
This was a request for someone at work and I was quite pleased with it.

I have made a few cards this week but all for events I can't post yet - so will be back soon!

Owl Silhouette

Today's card idea was very much 'borrowed' from Natalie O'Shea's lovely examples on her Stampin' Up stand at Farnborough last week.

I would of liked a slightly lighter shade of blue card, but anyway!
The blue card has been stamped with an image from 'Delightful Decorations' and embossed with stardust embossing powder.

Owls from the lovely SU punch and the branches are from the bird version.
These are layered on a large white circle.
Sentiment is from 'Create a Cupcake' and punched out and layered with more SU punches - at least I am using all my punches!

I thought it was a really effective card and hope to try some more of her fab ideas shortly.
