Club night cards

A couple of cards from our last Crafty Bunch night.

All the girls were given some sheets of paper from The Potting Shed paper pack from Craftwork cards, along with some of the toppers.

I did a few samples, a couple of them are below:

The top card has some 3D wellies and I've only added the hessian ribbon, button and yellow & silver card to the pack.

Love the papers on the bottom card - I've had to sneak in my SU bow punch for this one and some card candi.

Crafty Bunch project

Finally, this is the project we did at Crafty Bunch last week.
I first did this 'card and gift carrier' at a copic workshop with the lovely Clare Rowlands of Molly Blooms stamps.  I thought it was something different.

The carrier is made from one piece of 12x12" paper which is folded and scored to make one pocket either side.

The front pocket takes a 5x5" card.  In this sample I have used a gorgeous Warren rabbit image from a Craftwork cards pack in the stash.  It had matching papers and I've used SU Petite Petals for the flowers.

The pocket on the back has a little gift envelope that will hold a gift card or some money.

This is finished with some punched circle details on the front and my new favourite SU bow punch.

To try and add a man card this one uses the new SU set Moon Lake for the main card.  I've stamped it in baked brown sugar ink and added some water to 'colour' it.

The backing paper on the card is Anna Marie again.

The image on the envelope is from the SU Wetlands set.

Some hessian, card candi and buttons added to finish.

The 12x12" paper is from an old Stampin' Up! subtles pack I got from the clearance rack last year for the purpose.

Candi tree

Unfortunately I was commissioned to make a sympathy card this week.

I've actually managed to make a card designed for card candi and not filled it with quilling for once!

The image is from a Craftwork Cards pad I have in the stash which has lots of different pictures in different colours to populate with candi.

I have simply picked up on the colour and used some candi from my selection and layered the image on co-ordinating card.

Sentiment from Stampin' Up and punched out with SU punch.

Oops!

Requests are coming in thick and fast this week!

I'd taken in a few images for a 'discussion' with someone and got an emergency call from someone else to say they had forgotten a birthday.

It turned out he really liked this Warren rabbit image which is a stamp from Craftwork Cards.

I've coloured him in copics and layered him on a scallop circle punch and a couple of card layers to show him off.

I was asked to add an 'oops' sentiment (layered on 2 SU punches) which fits rather well with Warren's expression.

I had planned for the sentiment to be put on straight but the main image went on at an even jauntier image than I was planning.

Finished with some card candi's and he was really pleased.

Flowerpot Birthday

A similar, but slightly different, card to one from a recent post.

I had enough brown quilling paper left for another pot - I must have more in the house but didn't have any to hand so decided to make one pot a feature of this card which was for a Crafty Bunch birthday.

Flowers made from the kit from JJ Quilling.  I have mounted the pot & flowers on some X-Cut dies and some matching pearly paper which are all layered on to a lovely shaped card from Craftwork Cards.

Some Anita's gems added in the corners and an SU stamped sentiment punched out and mounted on further SU punched labels.

I am now off to glitter the ongoing card that I might post soon!

Blue Butterflies

And for today's experiment a card we were shown at Newbury by Julie and I have noticed the technique appearing on quite a few blogs recently.


The dimensions I came across for it used a strange size card and as I wanted to keep to C6 I made up some for now.  It needs a little perfecting but I'm quite pleased with my first attempt.


I chose blue as I need to take a card featuring 'blues' to Crafty Bunch next week and have limited time to make too many but had to have a play!


All the layers of card are cut out and then the blue mats are removed, a little adhesive is added to the middle of each of the 3 cream layers just to keep them stacked (and the oval sentiment).  I used a stamp from the SU Vintage Vogue set and stamped across all the layers with Tempting Turquoise ink.  I then used a Craftwork Cards butterfly stamp and stamped this over the layers using Pacific Point ink.


Then I stuck the top 2 layers together and, for once, remembered to add some ribbon before sticking the last mat down.  This almost co-ordinating ribbon ended up in my stash from a wedding favour I think!


A bit of playing required with sizes to perfect it and all the different stamp options but one I will be trying again.

Zentangle

Happy special Birthday today to Karen today.
As part of our Crafty Bunch Birthday club we send a card to everyone on the list so get a nice little pile on our Birthdays.


I had seen on Karen's Blog that she had been playing with Zentangle like I had so thought she would appreciate a bit of a 'doodled' card.  It is very therapeutic and addictive.


This stencil was one from a set I got with Papercraft Inspirations Magazine a while ago and the font is computer generated but then doodled in as well.  The scalloped card is from Craftwork Cards.


Today's other surprising news is that both myself and Karen are among just 30 people who have a place on the first ever DOCrafts Creativity Club Event next month, the odds of which must be rather high but I think we are both rather pleased!

Rudolph

Well, I need a new rubber stamp like a hole in the head! I try not to even look at wooden ones too much now as I do love clear stamps but a sample of these reindeer caught my eye at the weekend.

The stamp by Great Impressions made me chuckle so I picked it up to find it was £9.50! As I put it back I noticed a sign saying it was half price - so I had to buy it (didn't I?).

I've stamped him and coloured him with copics, with gold promarker for the bells and a fluffy red nose.

Punched the image out and layered it on to red mirri card. I've coloured a peel off greeting in red to match and cut out with some trusty SU punches, added some red card candy to the corners and all on a Craftwork Cards scallop edge card.

Warren

Hooray - I made a card!

This is Warren, a very cute looking chap I liberated from Craftwork Cards.

I stamped him using a Momento ink called London Fog, then coloured in using Copics. I used some glossy accents on the flowers and butterflies too.

I punched out the image and mounted on to a Nellie's die using some very nice green sparkly card I luckily bought lots of whilst we still had the Paper Mill.

This was mounted on a strip of matching card, white card then a piece of patterned paper from the stash to tie together. 4 card candy pieces in the corner which were coloured in the same copic green as the leaves and finished with a couple of SU punches and peel off greeting.

Still a little slow on blogging as got a commission on this week but will post that when complete too.

Owls

Had a very strange moment this morning when I put Create & Craft on the tv one of my cards was on - very random indeed!!

I entered a Forever Friends comp a while back (which I didn't win), at least the card had a small moment of fame!

Anyway, this card I have made a couple of times recently. The backing paper and that used for the oval scallops & large flowers is from a pack called Pocketful of Posies I got cheap somewhere.

The owls are Craftwork Cards with a touch of copic colour to match the papers. Large flowers punched using an SU punch, little flowers, brads and bow from a recent Docrafts goody bag.

I do hope no one got hold of any of my germs after the weekend, feel a bit more like playing today so must be feeling better - bring out the copics!!

Handbag

Another easy card I'm afraid!

Not usually colours I would use but thought I'd have a go with something different - and it will stop me making another purple card!

All the supplies are from Craftwork Cards and I've copied a card I saw Julie Hickey put together.

The handbag base card has a strip of carnival pearlescent paper on the front. Two of the 'beautiful butterflies', one attached with a spare piece of ribbon and the handle is decorated using some of the 'sweet tooth' candy.

Not colours I would normally think of putting together - I must be more adventurous!

Not made as many cards this week but made this for my friends birthday.
It is on a 7.5" square card which is a fab size for something a bit different.
It was made with a selection of pieces from the very yummy craftwork cards goody bag - so many great sayings I didn't know which one to pick!
I added a little punched flower to the centre of the spotty flowers before adding the central card candy.
I also finished off by adding some tiny Anita's gems for a spot of glitz!
