Thank You

This is a card I made earlier in the week for a colleague who took early retirement at work and who very kindly took a group of us out to lunch so we wanted to send her a card.

The paper is from a Forever Friends pack I think. The images are from a Lets Make Cards mag - the person concerned is a Gromit fan and there is an in joke about a bike with a basket so they are very suitable!

The images are mounted on a punched oval which is layered on a punched scalloped oval which I have 'spirellied'.

Finished with a Thank You stamp and a spot of card candy.

And, I can thoroughly recommend the Ilchester Arms for a spot of lunch!!

Anniversary

This is an anniversary card for some friends who got married one year ago.

The heart is embossed from a little MDF embossing board I have in the stash.

I made the wedding invites for these friends so the flowers are exactly the same as the ones that were on the invites. Flowers, centres and leaves are all punched.

A little stamped greeting cut out with SU ovals and a strip of ribbon to finish (also something that was on the invites).

Make and Take

Had a great evening at Margaret's Stampin' Up gathering, thanks to her for hosting.

Stevie the demonstrator (www.stampingmatters.co.uk) showed us a few nice stamps and punches and we used some goodies to make the card above.

The flower and leaf spray are from the new Vintage Vogue set (yes I did) and the Thank You is a new stand alone stamp (could of stuck it a bit more centrally!).

Quite a nice effective and uncomplicated card. I might of bought a couple more stamps, I will make a card with them when they arrive for you all!

Busy Week!

I have made a card this evening but won't post it for a couple of days yet!

To keep up with the blog I thought I would add this one as I keep seeing it on the tv!!!

I made it for a DOCrafts comp a while back, wasn't very pleased with it because I spent too much time thinking in the end and it was a bit quick and not quite what I wanted - I didn't win.

Having said that I happened to catch it on Create & Craft the other week, which i'd just popped past, as a sample card.

Managed to have a splendid migraine Monday so was having another sofa day when I visited again (I rarely watch the channel it is so bizarre) just in time to see the pic on the screen for their pick of the day which was the new Forever Friends CD's. My card was there again, next to all the CD's - I think I need some appearance money!!!

So for not liking it too much it certainly is having a bit of an outing.

No post tomorrow because I've just been asked if I wanted to pop to a Stampin' Up party - couldn't say no obviously, would of been rude!

Christening

I am still here (apologies to Janet, not been too much off the production line this week!).

Had the Christening of my niece Gemma yesterday. Always find cards for this occasion a bit tricky.

Anyway, settled on stamping this Forever Friends image in an aperture card, using a second image cut out to 3D it, then coloured with copics.

Then surrounded the oval in a selection of quilled flowers in white and light pink, all done in 2mm paper so they are a little more delicate (apart from the fringed flower which is 5mm paper!).

Rest

I'm all quilled out now!! Funnily enough I didn't finish anything today to post - I will at some point soon. Going to have a teensy rest for a day or two!

This card is another one that just made it for the weekend though. The pic might not do it justice but the petals are edged with a contrasting colour for something a bit different.

The blue petals are edged in grey which I never would of thought of but stole from Claire Choi's book.

Workshop

So, 2 very long quilling days down. Been spreading the quilling word though and very pleased to get some new converts and pass on some of the tips I've learnt over the years.

Despite fancying a bit of a snooze I then needed to put this sample together for tomorrows workshop where I need to do a bit of a demo!

The pattern is from a Quilling Guild magazine, the technique we are doing tomorrow is used here for the leaves - further explanation to follow another day.

Oh yes - had another rush on storks so it was handy I made some more yesterday and now have none again!
