Baby Cards

Because I was so exhausted after a days quilling demo today and can barely keep my eyes open I thought I'd stick these cards together!!

Had a run on stork cards the last two days so quilled a few more this afternoon in between visitors. Obviously no one will want one now but I tried.

Neutral ones are also quite popular as people like the idea but don't always know what is coming!

The pattern is in a Past Times Quilling book by Pat Green.

Butterfly

My final card for this weekends stash, had forgotten I hadn't stuck this on a card.

Butterflies have been really popular. This one is in shades of brown, the wings are teardrops of varying sizes, the body a marquise shape and a filigree 'v' for the antennae.

Layered on some matching card and the base card is covered in some papermania paper from my stash.

Let's hope today's sunshine and the promise of more brings lots of visitors at the weekend!

Flowers

Still buried under a pile of quilling this week but the latest piece to make it out is this flower panel.

It is based on the one in the book 'Quilled Cards' by Diane Boden Crane. She is very talented and does amazing work all in 2mm paper and I have been lucky enough to have had some tuition with her in the past.

The background of this card was marked in pencil and the various sections chalked to colour them, the border is narrow width quilling paper. I decided to do these flowers as each teardrop petal is edged with a contrasting colour strip which I think looks quite striking, yet hopefully not too scary to demo as something different at the weekend.

Demo Days

Just in case anyone is passing this blog and doesn't know about Yandles this Friday and Saturday where I will be demonstrating Quilling, Val will be doing something very clever with a floral theme I believe, also jewellery, knitting, sculpey and more (with tea and cake available!).

Day out!

After getting drenched watching a bike race yesterday I thought I'd treat myself to some air in the sunshine today!

Cricket St Thomas had an open gardens day so I went along with Mum for a wander, not realising that they still had some animals there, even though they are doing a lot of work in the grounds re-landscaping it. Not sure if the lemurs are sunbathing or doing group meditation!

The daffodils there were lovely and a much nicer weather day than Saturday, followed by tea in Cricket House, can't be bad! Off to stick some more quilling on cards again now.

'Extreme' Quilling

More samples - these ones are from my 'extreme' quilling range!!

As some cards with lots of quilling on can scare people off I have tried to do a few which combine techniques as I know a lot of crafters seem to do ten if we do one!

This stamp set is Farmyard Animals by Francoise Read for Woodware. The cow has quilled accents and the sheep body is made of quilled coils and his face and legs stamped and cut out.

The greetings are peel off on layered punched circles. These cards also have potential for those awkward chaps we need cards for sometimes!

Happy Easter

Just a mini card today I made to amuse my colleagues!

It's one of a range of Penny Black stamps which I coloured quickly and punched out and layered on a punched scalloped oval.

Off to stick some of my pile of quilled flowers and butterflies to cards now!
